CSFs deliver local, sustainable seafood to your home!

A community-supported fishery (CSF) is a great way to access fresh, locally sourced seafood. Members pay in advance for a "share" of seafood sourced from local fishermen, and delivered weekly to a neighborhood pickup location, or directly to their home. Each CSF offers a variety of seafood to its members, based on local regulations, catch size, seasonality, and location. Many CSF programs offer multiple levels of membership, depending on the size of a share a member wants (i.e., individual share or family share), or preference for seafood types.

  • Ensure fishermen a higher, fair price for their catch that reflects the value of their work

  • Build a more robust, viable, local food system

  • Help fishermen and seafood consumers creatively steward marine resources

In the Monterey Bay, we’re lucky to have three locally-owned CSFs that deliver to the Monterey Bay area and beyond. In addition to many different levels of weekly, bi-weekly or monthly memberships, all of these CSFs also operate online stores - so you can try their seafood before becoming a member with regular deliveries.

Real Good Fish

Real Good Fish is a CSF and online seafood store owned and operated by husband and wife team Alan and Jenn Lovewell.

Their team believes in eating with the ecosystem, matching consumption with the rhythms of nature and place. They source from local fishermen, ranchers, and farmers to deliver local, sustainable seafood and meat. Members also get exclusive access to housemade products, like Crab & Ricotta Ravioli, and can contribute to their Bay2Tray program which provides local seafood to schools.

H&H Fresh Fish

Delivery throughout Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties

H&H Fresh Fish is a CSF and seafood market owned and operated by Hans Haveman and Heidi Rhodes, a husband and wife team who are the resident seafood buyers of the Santa Cruz Harbor.

Every fish is hand selected, approved, and processed for Farmers' Markets, the Harbor Fishhouse, their CSF, and their wholesale customers. They are proud to support sustainable fishing methods that take good care of our beloved ocean. Members can add other in-season species to their weekly membership, and pickup from the H&H Harbor Fish Market, neighborhood pickup spots or enjoy home delivery.

Ocean2Table

Delivery throughout Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and Monterey Counties

Ocean2Table is a CSF and online seafood store owned and operated by Ian Cole and Charles Lambert. Both have fished since a young age, and have degrees in Environmental Studies and Fisheries Management.

Ocean2Table catches fish off their boats and sources seafood from other local boats that use sustainable fishing methods. They send out regular “fish alerts” with detailed information about the catch, including recipes. Members can also enjoy add-ons like local eggs, fresh bread, veggies, mushrooms or chicken.
