Get Hooked Santa Cruz restaurant week is now underway!
July 29 - August 4, 2019
Join us this week for a seafood extravaganza highlighting local seafood, the people who catch it, and the restaurants and chefs that transform it into a genuine, Monterey Bay-centered, gastronomic experience!
Get Hooked restaurant week debuted in Monterey last January, and is now expanding to the northern reaches of the Bay. For seven days, restaurants throughout Santa Cruz will be crafting unique dishes and putting their #bestfishforward by showcasing several seasonal species: King Salmon, Black Cod, Lingcod, and California Halibut (among others that can be found in our waters this time of year). Book your reservations now at one of the seventeen participating restaurants, and help support our local commercial fishing fleet.
Get Hooked is a culinary experience that shares the story of the fishermen and women who work hard to bring healthy, sustainable seafood to our dinner plates. According to Charlie Lambert of Ocean2Table, one of the partnering organizers of the event, ““Get Hooked bridges the gap between the consumer sitting at a table in a restaurant, with the fisherman catching wild fish out on a boat at sea - in this case right in our backyard in the Monterey Bay.” He continues “By providing full information on the boat, captain, catch method, and more, this not only empowers the fisherman and seafood being served but also gives thanks to the valuable stakeholders involved in the process.”
To cap off the celebration, a FINale dinner will be held on Sunday, August 4th at the Food Lounge, where guests will enjoy a 4-course menu of Latin American infused fare artfully designed by Colectivo Felix. $50 - alcohol sold separately.
