February 4th, 8 AM PST, 11 AM EST, 11 PM Jakarta, 12 AM China and Philippines

Crustacean Task Force Webinar Series: Climate Change and Crustacean Fisheries

 Speakers:

Dr. Andre Punt – Director and Professor: School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, University of Washington

Dr. Andrew Pershing – Director of Climate Science: Climate Central

Erin Fedewa – Research Fishery Biologist: Alaska Fisheries Science Center

Moderated by: Nathan Willse – Stony Brook University

As part of the Crustacean Task Force Webinar Series, three presenters will describe the unique challenges climate change poses to crustacean populations and fisheries. We will discuss the biological and management response to long term trends in changing climate across crustacean species, some of the limitations in applying current stock assessment approaches to climate-altered stocks, and describe how management strategy evaluations can be used to balance tradeoffs between biological and economic objectives for fisheries. There will be a question period for open discussion with the speakers following each presentation.
