***FISHERIES STAKEHOLDER INPUT NEEDED BY SEPTEMBER 3RD***
On August 17th, the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) hosted a webinar, "Topical Workshop - Advancing 30x30: Conservation of Coastal Waters." This was part of a series of workshops focused on the State's commitment to conserve 30 percent of California’s lands and coastal waters by 2030 (30x30). At this meeting, a group of panelists presented the recommended strategies outlined in this Summary Document and stakeholders were asked to provide verbal public comment. CNRA plans to use the input gathered to create the "Pathways to 30×30" report" due in February 2022, which will detail opportunities and strategies to achieve 30×30.
There were very few fishing industry stakeholders at the meeting -there is still an opportunity to provide input, and your voice is very important at this stage. I strongly encourage you to send public comment in any of the following ways by September 3rd:
