Exploring Scaled Management for the California Halibut Fishery: PART I - A focused discussion with the Recreational Sector

Visit announcement at: https://cdfwmarine.wordpress.com/2021/07/23/upcoming-california-halibut-webinar-series-announced/

In 2019, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) completed a prioritization process for all of California’s fisheries in accordance with the 2018 Master Plan for Fisheries: A Guide for Implementation of the Marine Life Management Act. California halibut was identified as a high-priority fishery for management attention.

CDFW is committed to partnering with stakeholders to make informed decisions about the degree, or scale, of management necessary to ensure a sustainable California halibut fishery.

Stakeholders and interested members of the public are invited to a three-part webinar series this summer/fall. We look forward to the opportunity to share information about the California halibut fishery. Webinar participants are encouraged to share their perspectives and knowledge to help inform management discussions.
